心理治療師 Angela Williams 指出,Niksen 讓大腦有機會消化每天的思緒與情緒,幫助整合學到的知識。研究顯示,大腦在休息狀態下會啟動「預設模式網絡」(Default Mode Network),與創造力、靈感的產生有關。這也是為什麼發呆反而能讓人更專注、更有想法。

According to psychotherapist Angela Williams, Niksen gives your brain the chance to process daily thoughts and emotions. Research shows that when the brain is at rest, the “default mode network” activates — a system linked to creativity and inspiration. That’s why zoning out can actually boost focus and ideas.

Niksen also helps regulate the nervous system and reduce stress. By letting go of constant productivity, your body enters a relaxation mode, lowering cortisol levels and even improving sleep quality.


How to Try Niksen

While Niksen sounds simple, it can feel hard at first. Williams suggests starting with 5–30 minutes a day: lie in bed without your phone in the morning, sip coffee while staring out the window, or sit quietly on the couch at night. The key is: you don’t have to do anything — just give yourself space.
